Definition of Heart Palpitations

Heart pounding

The situation is heart-pounding sensation that usually cause unpleasant feelings caused by the occurrence of an irregular heartbeat. In some people who have a heart-pounding conditions, no known cause. But in some other patients the occurrence of heart palpitations are caused by heart rhythm abnormalities or commonly called arrhythmias.

Here are some common types of arrhythmia:

Arrhythmia which refers to the condition of the heart rate is too fast or too slow even arguably irregular.

Tachycardia is a type of fast arrhythmias, the occurrence of the heart rate faster than 100 beats per minute.

Bradycardia is the arrhythmia is quite slow (the occurrence of heart rate slower than 60 beats / min).

Fibrillation is a condition of the heart rhythm that occurs irregularly.

Atria which consists of the right atrium and left atrium is the heart chambers that are part of.
The right atrium receives venous blood from the charge of the whole body and pumps it into the ventricle (chamber) right.
While in charge of the left atrium receives blood that contains lots of oxygen from the lungs and pumps it into the ventricle (chamber) left.

Ventricles or chambers commonly called a heart chambers are located at the bottom.
Every normal heart has two ventricles (right ventricle and left ventricle).

Premature contractions is the process of cardiac impulses are isolated and occur earlier than expected. Premature contraction will usually rest, when the heart's electrical system "resets" itself. Contractions that occur after the break is usually stronger than normal contractions before. The patient will usually feel the contractions stronger as palpitations.
